In 2022, a group of USC Fulbright Students were faced with the challenge of starting an academic journey in the US. Many of us are only here for a few years and then return to our home country and are often faced with learning and adapting to US and USC culture in only a few months. Based on the experience of previous USC Fulbright cohorts, we decided to create a Recognized Student Organization that would not only support incoming Fulbright students but also make an impact in USC’s existing community.
To empower members to share knowledge, connect with a global network, impact the local and international community, and contribute to USC’s human and professional excellence. BRIGHTS is the point of contact between the USC community and the multiple Fulbright chapters and associations around the world. To create a linkage between USC Viterbi School of Engineering’s to other departments and schools via the BRIGHTS members.
Bring together the Fulbright program beneficiaries that belong to the Trojan Family as current students, staff, alumni, faculty members, or USC representatives. BRIGHTS' main goal is to promote cultural exchange and foster multidisciplinary leadership that will enrich the Fulbright academic journey of every Trojan member as well as the USC community in general.
Organize events and projects within the USC community that serve BRIGHTS’ Purpose. Serve as a professional and cultural development network for current, past and future BRIGHTS members.
